The newly launched Agroforestry Hub from Agricology brings together a wealth of practical knowledge, case studies, and research to support anyone interested in integrating trees into farming systems - whether through silvopasture, silvoarable, silvohorticulture, woodland grazing, or hedgerow management.

Agroforestry is an agroecology-based approach that combines trees and shrubs with crops, livestock, or both, to create diverse, productive, and resilient farming models. The Hub is designed to help farmers navigate this complexity, offering step-by-step resources from early ideas and design to long-term management and diversification.

Structured as an online learning journey, the Agroforestry Hub collates material from Agricology’s extensive archive and trusted partners. It features farmer profiles, research summaries, podcasts, videos, and toolkits, highlighting both the opportunities and challenges of farming with trees.

By showcasing examples ranging from Wakelyns Agroforestry’s pioneering alley-cropping system to upland crofters planting thousands of native trees, the Hub demonstrates the wide variety of ways agroforestry can be adapted to different contexts and scales.

The Hub also provides guidance on tree species selection, funding options, and policy developments, alongside insights into long-term management issues such as tree fodder, pruning, and integrating livestock.
