Outcomes and Next Steps:
Hopefully we will see a yield difference through the combine. A yield difference will enable us to work out the value added by the seed treatment vs the cost of application.
Trial Description:
I am testing 2 seed treatments on Vespa winter beans against untreated. The two seed treatments are Intergro’s Newton and Nutrel’s Nugro 6.2.4.
The field was Winter Oats last year. It has been ploughed & was drilled with a combination drill on 15th October 2024.
In addition, to the seed treatment, the Nugro section will get a foliar application of 5l/ha in early April. The farm is managed organically.
The yield will be analysed using our combine yield monitor & the Nugro beans will be compared to the untreated through the Yen programme.
